Broughton - Supported Living Support Worker

We are looking for staff who have a fun, patient, and thoughtful manner to support 2 ladies and 1 gentleman with learning and physical disabilities. Having historically lived in an institution, they are now valued members of their community and welcome staff who want to enhance their positive experiences while learning about their needs. The Role – Support Worker
Reporting to the Service Manager, you will work as part of a team to support individuals with learning and physical disabilities in their own homes. Your duties will include:
* Assisting with all personal care requirements using hoists and other specialist equipment, while respecting the person’s dignity and privacy.
* Helping individuals access public amenities, both by vehicle and on foot (including pushing a wheelchair and utilizing adapted vehicles).
* Assisting individuals in developing daily living skills, including budgeting, cooking, cleaning, laundry, and shopping.
* Completing daily living tasks that individuals cannot perform due to their disabilities.
* Attending and actively participating in Service Delivery/Care Plan meetings.
* Attending supervision sessions and team meetings.
Hours on the 24/7 rotas may include day, evening, weekend shifts, and sleep-ins. Specific hours for location-based roles will be discussed at the interview.

Our Requirements – Support Worker
* Able and willing to drive (most individuals we support have mobility vehicles).
* Able to push a wheelchair and utilize specialist mobility equipment (training provided).
* Able to undertake a broad range of moderately physical activities.
* Effective and clear communication skills, both written and verbal.
* Basic numeracy and literacy skills.
* Passion for making a positive difference in the lives of vulnerable people.
* Able to work unsupervised and make the best use of resources.
* Ability to work in a team in a supportive and considerate manner.
* Willingness to listen and be patient, calm, and confident in challenging situations.
* Willingness to undertake all identified training.
