Would you like to work in an ethnically diverse, NHS Paediatric Speech and Language Therapy team, where training and supervision are a priority?
Due to over-recruitment funding as well as increased interest in the Mainstream School buy-in service, we have an exciting opportunity for an enthusiastic newly qualified Speech and Language Therapists to join our well-established service in Redbridge, part of the North East London Foundation Trust. This is a fixed term position for a year, with every possibility of becoming permanent.
Working as part of this team you will provide a service for children presenting with a range of speech, language and communication difficulties within mainstream schools, community clinics and mainstream schools buy-in service.
Main duties of the job
The main responsibilities of the post:
* To contribute to the provision of speech and language therapy clinical care pathways across Redbridge
* To deliver comprehensive formal and informal assessment, and make differential diagnosis on the basis of this assessment
* To develop evidence-based intervention programmes, adapt and facilitate therapy and the use of augmentative communication systems according to client centred needs
* To work closely with clients, carers, families and school staff to embed inclusive speech, language and communication practice both at home and within the classroom
* To contribute to both uni and multi-disciplinary team working to ensure co-ordinated service provision
* To attend relevant training courses, meetings and special interest groups in order to maintain skills and knowledge required of a Speech and Language Therapist working in the field of paediatrics.

NELFT place a great deal of importance on new starters being properly welcomed and inducted into the Trust. All new starters will join the Trust on the first Monday of each month and will undertake a comprehensive induction of up to two weeks which will include mandatory training, systems training and the allocation of equipment.

The Speech and Language Therapy Service in Redbridge operates within a multi-disciplinary team for children with additional needs and disabilities. We offer:
