Job Title: Contracts Administrator (Architecture Practice)

Job Description:
We are seeking a dedicated and experienced Contracts Administrator to join our architecture practice. The ideal candidate will have a strong background in contract administration within an architectural setting, excellent interpersonal and communication skills, and the ability to manage complex contracts and client relationships effectively. This could be a dedicated CA or an architect or technician with experience.
Key Responsibilities:
1. Drafting and Managing Contracts: Prepare and manage JCT contracts (or similar) for architectural projects, ensuring all contractual obligations are met.
2. Payment Management: Oversee the management of staged payments and valuations, ensuring accurate and timely processing of payments from contractors.
3. Change Order Management: Handle and process change orders from contractors, assessing the impact on project scope and budget.
4. Collaboration: Work closely with the Quantity Surveyor (QS) to ensure financial control and cost management throughout the project lifecycle.
5. Liaison and Coordination: Act as the main point of contact between the architectural team, contractors, relevant authorities, and clients to ensure smooth project progression.
6. Site Visits and Reporting: Conduct regular site visits to monitor progress, prepare detailed site reports, and address any contractual or compliance issues.
7. Project Documentation: Maintain up-to-date project documentation and ensure compliance with all contractual and regulatory requirements.
Desirable Skills:
1. Technical Proficiency: Ability to draft or update project details using AutoCAD or Revit (preferred but not essential).
2. Soft Skills: Strong communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to effectively manage stakeholder expectations and resolve disputes.
3. Attention to Detail: Meticulous attention to detail, ensuring accuracy in documentation and contractual agreements.
4. Problem Solving: Ability to handle complex project scenarios and make informed decisions under pressure.
Experience & Qualifications:
1. Proven experience as a Contracts Administrator within an architectural or construction setting.
2. Familiarity with JCT contracts or similar forms of agreement.
3. Experience in managing staged payments, change orders, and liaising with multiple stakeholders.
4. Strong project management skills and an understanding of the architectural process.
5. Educational Background: Degree in Architecture, Construction Management, or a related field is preferred.
