1.Job Purpose To acquire a basic understanding of mechanical seals and the refurbishment process, and a comprehensive knowledge of manual machining and lapping requirements. 2. Job Dimensions To encompass direct handling of products received for machining & lapping, including: turning, boring, milling, drilling, lapping and interference face fitting & curing. To also run the Derby calibration programme. 3. Principal Accountabilities 3.1To operate in accordance with Company Standards, policies and procedures. 3.2 To efficiently control the throughput of all work routed to Machining, e.g. turning, boring, milling, drilling and grinding. 3.3 To efficiently support the throughput of all work routed to Lapping, e.g. matt lap, polish lap and face fitting 3.4 To communicate any issues (quality, commercial or delivery-based) to respective stakeholders in a timely and coherent manner to ensure the highest level of customer service. 3.5 To ensure all necessary equipment complies with the calibration requirements of the ISO quality system. 3.6 To fully support working practices, including: Health, safety and environmental compliance. Customer Service Team working. Housekeeping. Continuous improvement. 3.7 To assume other responsibilities as required and work with colleagues to further the good performance of the Company. Skills, Knowledge and Experience Qualifications / Education Essential GCSE passes grade C or above in Maths and English (or equivalent) BTEC or T Level in relevant subject Desirable Technical/Hands on practical success Skills, Knowledge & Experience Essential Accuracy & attention to detail.
