We have a new opportunity to be part of our F1 Evolution team in the role of Hydraulics Technician.
F1 Evolution is Aston Martin Aramco Formula One® Team’s heritage programme. As an F1 Evolution Hydraulics Technician you will take ownership of the build, commission, testing, turnaround and servicing of all hydraulic-related components, in accordance with the specifications required, contributing effectively towards the F1 Evolution objectives.
You will also contribute to projects within Aston Martin Performance Technologies a fast-growing business within the Aston Martin Racing Performance Group with the vision to deploy the team’s F1 knowledge and technical expertise to deliver high-performance engineering projects outside of Formula One.
You will be responsible for:
* Assembly, service, commission and repair of all Hydraulic Components within F1 Evolution and AMPT departments, working to the highest standards and in accordance with the specifications, to ensure delivery, performance and reliability targets are met efficiently and on time.
* Keeping all product documents filled in and up to date.
* Providing end-to-end support for F1 Evolution, and appropriate AMPT projects to ensure all assemblies are available on time and as design intention.
* Understanding technical drawings and follow build instructions.
* Championing best practice cleanliness standards associated to hydraulic assemblies.
* Maintaining a safe, clean, and tidy working environment at all times.
* Supporting any pertinent offsite activities when required by the business.
* Communicating any problems or issues in accordance with business processes and systems.
* Always adhering to all Business Health and Safety requirements.
* Attending and proactively participating in meetings as required.
* To assist in the training of any new future pertinent members of the organisation.
* Assist other departments within the organisation when required.
* To carry out general maintenance on all rigs and equipment associated to conducting duties.
* Any other duties as reasonably requested aligned to you job role.
What you will need to be successful in this role:
* Proven experience working within a Formula One or equivalent high-performance motorsport environment.
* Expert-level knowledge of current F1 hydraulic systems or similar, with the ability to perform assembly, commissioning, servicing, repair, and testing across all relevant components.
* Strong understanding of current engineering methodologies and best practices utilised within Formula One or equivalent industries.
* Ability to work effectively within a team environment, contributing collaboratively while also maintaining the self-motivation necessary for independent tasks.
* Strong communication and organisational skills, with a professional and respectful approach to colleagues at all levels.
* Proficiency in computer systems relevant to business operations and technical processes.
* A self-driven and proactive mindset, with a commitment to continuous improvement and organisational development.
* Confidence in decision-making, with the ability to assess situations critically and act decisively.
* A creative and flexible approach to problem-solving, leveraging scientific and analytical methods to overcome technical challenges.
* Ability to consistently meet performance targets within defined timeframes, maintaining a composed and professional demeanour under pressure.
* Ability to demonstrate a clear understanding of and commitment to Health & Safety
* Able to travel within UK and internationally.
* Flexibility to manage workload when required outside core company hours.
This is a full-time office-based role based at our campus in Silverstone, with additional requirement to travel to other locations where necessary.
