The IP Claims Assessor role: Swiftly and accurately assess and authorise IP claims in line with policy terms, procedures, and philosophy. Develop core capabilities to assess, approve, and process claims efficiently. Review ongoing claims, make appropriate referrals, and recommend management plans. Liaise effectively with medical professionals, intermediaries, and both internal and external customers. Provide support and guidance to customers regarding claims, ensuring a positive experience for successful claims and clear communication for declined claims. Arrange independent assessments, treatments, home visits, and private investigations as per current claims management policy. Maintain regular contact with policyholders through the Health Claims Advisory Service to build relationships and facilitate a smooth return to work. Write confidential correspondence to medical professionals, financial advisors, policyholders, reinsurers, employers, and suppliers. Stay updated with industry developments and claims management initiatives. Contribute to the development of claims philosophy, services, systems, and procedures. Understand and adhere to relevant financial regulations. What we’re looking for in you: Skilled within the claim business processes including policy cover, financial/medical underwriting criteria and conflict handling Insurance industry knowledge Excellent verbal and written communication skills. Highly organised, proactive, and capable of managing a varied workload. Strong attention to detail, with the ability to follow established processes and procedures accurately. Experience in handling difficult customers and effortlessly building rapport. A solutions-oriented mindset with strong decision-making abilities. Proficiency in Microsoft Office software.
