Location: Mold Service Centre CH7 1JR – Full UK Driving Licence required
Working Hours: Full time, 42.5 hours per week, Monday to Friday 8am-5pm
We are currently looking for Field Service Engineers to join the team within our Mold Service Centre. As a healthcare equipment provider, Ross Care works in partnership with the NHS to supply the necessary equipment and aids to support people in their day-to-day life.
Job Purpose:
To enable the Company to achieve the agreed contractual standard of service by completing initial training in the workshop reconditioning wheelchair equipment to gain essential product knowledge. Upon completion of initial training, you will work in the field delivering, collecting, repairing, and servicing wheelchairs, with the expectation of completing most jobs on a first-time fix basis.
Key Responsibilities:
* Delivering and collecting wheelchairs to and from service user’s homes and NHS departments, ensuring compliance with the Company Infection Control Policy.
* Servicing and repairing wheelchairs in the field with the aim of achieving a first-time fix whenever possible.
* Carefully reading and completing all paperwork related to each job, documenting parts used and actions taken on the job card for accurate database updates.
* Using any supplied PPE as instructed.
* Once fully trained, undertake out-of-hours responsibilities when rostered.
* Observing all regulations regarding driving and using the Company vehicle on public highways, aware of employee responsibilities under the Health & Safety at Work Act.
* Maintaining a tidy vehicle and replenishing necessary parts daily.
* Conducting weekly vehicle safety checks and completing the van check sheet.
* Maintaining a professional customer service attitude, wearing the uniform and identification badge, ensuring the uniform is clean and laundered.
* Prioritizing and organizing your workload, referring to the Line Manager as needed.
* Being responsible for the maintenance and safe keeping of all tools and equipment provided by the Company as outlined in the Company handbook.
* Agreeing to undertake all necessary training to maintain the skills required for this role.
Qualifications:
* Full UK driving licence
* Successful enhanced DBS check
* General workshop knowledge
* Basic electrical knowledge, including 12v/24v D.C. systems
* Able to move and handle loads and equipment safely
* Experience in face-to-face customer contact
* Awareness and understanding of people with disabilities
* Flexible approach to changing working conditions and environments
* Ability to use own initiative within set boundaries
* Ability to use a mobile to relay photographs
* Good written and verbal communication skills
* Ability to relay clear instructions to clients
* Awareness of hand-held scanners
Physical Demands of the Job:
* Moving and handling equipment and accessories following handling guidelines
* Standing at a bench to work
* Kneeling/crouching
* Working in confined spaces if necessary (e.g., installing equipment in small toilet areas or bathrooms)
* Use of ramps and other agreed moving equipment
Most Challenging Parts of the Role:
* Flexible working and responsiveness to changing priorities set by the Line Manager or Customer Service team
* Availability for short notice overtime due to emergency response requirements
* Responsibility for out-of-hours duties
