Your principal role will be the management of the overall project comprising of packages ranging from HV equipment, Onshore Substations, Offshore Platforms, Offshore Containers to Ancillary systems throughout all the phases from design, construction to commissioning. You should have previously handled large and sophisticated category ‘A’ projects preferably in the transmission industry or ideally in the offshore industry and be able to demonstrate success in your previous project delivery. As a senior representative of the business, you will strive to handle customer expectations and conclude the project to the satisfaction of both the customer and the business. You will support the business by devising and implementing strategies for strengthening customer dedication and market position, where applicable. Let’s talk about you How you'll make an impact Siemens Energy Limited has an exciting new opportunity for a Project Director to deliver a number of offshore grid access connections, comprising Offshore Transformer Modules and Onshore Substations – for Offshore Wind Farm connections in the UK and overseas. The Project Director leads the complete high-profile project in the context of Grid Access stipulations and regulations with the objective of:
1. Implementing the project within the defined requirements ( cost, time, functionality, safety and quality)
2. Ensuring business success and customer satisfaction
3. Persuing professional internal and external partner management
4. Adhering to timely decisions on open issues, and advising Senior Management where required
5. Contract execution in a professional manner
Your responsibilities
6. Using available risk measurement tools throughout project life cycle to identify and assesses all risk factors
7. Devising suitable strategies for risk mitigation (eliminate, reduce, isolate, control)
8. Implementing procedure for solving issues and problems (identification, analysis, actions and controlling) with all vital internal and external partners
9. Identifying, assessing, and implementing all opportunities for improving result
As part of your Contract, Change and Claim Management responsibilities you will:
10. Influence formulation of the necessary contracts
11. Collaborate with partners on Change Requests and incorporate them into contracts
12. Define and agree the strategy for making, mitigating and defending claims
13. Involve the project team in the identification of changes and claims
14. Assess contracts in terms of claim-relevant significance, and ensure legal expert input
15. Put the strategy for making / mitigating claims into practice
16. At an early stage, advise customer, management and project team of deviations
17. At an early stage identify, drive, defend and mitigate claims
18. Protect the organisation from exposure to any contract liability
A meaningful part of your work will be the Project Planning, Controlling and Closure. You will:
19. Set up and maintain the Siemens Project Management Plan
20. Supervise continuously the project status, taking into account IFRS, early identification of discrepancies and initiates targeted actions
21. Define procedures and requirements concerning quality management (acceptance checks, audits, etc.) according to valid Quality Management regulations and standards
22. Hold regular project status meetings and coordinate acceptance of achieving agreed key measureable's
23. Drive the mechanical and electrical completion processes to a satisfactory outcome
24. Lead acceptance of delivery units and services, performing quality controls
25. Document all work results according to the valid standards
26. Coordinate acceptance tests and final project handover to contract partner(s)
In your Leadership & Communication role you will
27. Ensure efficient communication with all relevant Internal and External partners
28. Ensure targeted and full communication within the project team
29. Agree targets with project staff and delegates defined responsibilities and authority
30. Facilitate and supervise effective team collaboration ( via mentoring)
31. Hold feedback sessions with each directly assigned member of staff
32. Seek active feedback ( from members of staff, managers, customers)
As part of your Business Integrity role you will
33. Enforce the Siemens Business Conduct Guidelines ( Tax regulations & IR35, Delegation of employees, Export Control, EHS (environment, health and safety))
34. Involve the respective corporate governance units ( Compliance, Legal Units, HR, Workers Council)
35. Forward all relevant information to the project team members and partners
36. Set up a framework to ensure regular checks of the compliance in the project, by conducting Compliance Risk (Re-) Assessments at the appropriate milestones / Quality Gates
Pivotal for this role are Leadership methodologies for personnel management and development, team development, motivation, and overcoming obstacles. You should have a track record of detailed knowledge of Economics in project business, especially procedures for monitoring and control of financial aspects of project. Your expertise knowledge of project management tools enables you to use the PM methods concerning efficient project organization including roles and responsibilities, duties and collaboration (also with customers and partners).
