LB235 - Truck / Trailer Mechanic Location: Takeley, Essex Salary: £40,000 - £45,000 Overview: First Military Recruitment are currently seeking a Truck / Trailer Mechanic on behalf of one of our clients.Our client encourages applications from ex-military personnel however all candidates will be given due consideration. Duties and Responsibilities: To perform vehicle maintenance or trouble shoot defects and carry out repairs as necessary. To perform servicing and MOT preparation. Carry out occasional breakdowns using company service vans. Strong experience that has both breadth and depth of knowledge of trucks, trailers, engines, gearboxes, axles, hydraulic systems, electrical diagnosis and be able to use diagnostic equipment. Produce details of job on a job card, service sheet and daily time log. Communicate with supervisory staff regularly to keep them updated on the progress of your job. Be aware and responsible for Health & Safety of yourself and other employees. Shift pattern: Monday – Friday 8am-5pm. With the nature of the work involved, sound training and support will be given. Skills and Qualifications: Have both a good knowledge of heavy motor vehicles and, preferably, will hold at least a Level 3 City & Guilds qualification or equivalent. You will be part of a small but enthusiastic, friendly, and growing team of mechanics with a focus offering excellent customer service. The ideal candidate will be great at solving problems with good verbal and written communication and a genuine pride in the work you do. This person will need to have a high level of initiative and use their knowledge to solve problems that you have never seen before, and at times, working in environments that you have never been in before. Welding experience preferred but not essential. Full UK Driving Licence. CE LGV Licence preferred but not essential. Experience of crane operations preferred but not essential.
