As a Rent & Service Charge Accountant, you will be responsible for ensuring accurate and efficient financial operations related to rent collection and service charge management. You will play a vital role in helping us deliver transparent, well-managed financial services that benefit both our residents and our business.
Key Responsibilities:
* Oversee the accurate billing and collection of rent and service charges across our portfolio of properties
* Manage and maintain detailed records of rent payments, service charge calculations, and adjustments
* Prepare and process service charge budgets, ensuring compliance with regulatory standards
* Provide financial reports and analysis to senior management, highlighting key trends and performance indicators
* Resolve any discrepancies or issues with rent and service charge payments in a timely and professional manner
* Rental and service charge reconciliations
* Managing estate management recharging and reconciliations
Experience Required:
* Proven experience in a similar accounting role, preferably in property management or housing
* Strong understanding of rent and service charge accounting processes
* Proficient in accounting software and Microsoft Excel
* Excellent communication and problem-solving skills
* A proactive, organized approach with a keen eye for detail
* A degree in Accounting or a relevant professional qualification (e.g., ACA, ACCA, CIMA) is desirable
