Join an industry-leading company that turns travel dreams into reality! We're seeking an accomplished Bookkeeper to bring their expertise to a 30M turnover company, located near Banbury.
This role would suit someone motivated, positive and highly numerical and the successful candidate will be working in a small, hard-working and welcoming team.
As a Bookkeeper, you will play a critical role in managing financial transactions, maintaining accurate financial records, and ensuring compliance with UK financial regulations.
Key Responsibilities of the Bookkeeper
1. Maintain accurate financial records and ledgers using accounting software (e.g., Xero, Sage).
2. Process invoices, receipts, and payments promptly and accurately.
3. Reconcile bank accounts and other financial records on a regular basis.
4. Prepare VAT returns and ensure compliance with HMRC regulations.
5. Assist in the preparation of monthly management accounts and financial reports.
6. Monitor accounts payable and receivable to ensure timely payments and collections.
7. Provide support during audits and liaise with external accountants or tax advisors as required.
8. Keep up to date with changes in UK accounting standards and tax regulations.
9. Perform general administrative duties related to financial management.
Skills & Experience of the Bookkeeper
1. Proven experience as a bookkeeper or in a similar role.
2. Proficiency in accounting software such as Xero and Sage.
3. Strong knowledge of UK accounting principles and VAT regulations.
4. Excellent numerical skills with attention to detail and accuracy.
5. Strong organisational skills and the ability to manage multiple priorities.
6. Effective communication skills, both written and verbal.
7. Familiarity with payroll systems and pension schemes is an advantage.
8. AAT qualification or equivalent is preferred but not essential.
