Senior Locally Employed Doctor in Medical Retina
Manchester University NHS Foundation Trust
We are advertising for a Fellowship post in medical retina based at Manchester Royal Eye Hospital (MREH), the largest provincial ophthalmic unit in the UK, to commence from November 2024 for a period of 12 months. MREH is one of the only two dedicated Eye Hospitals in the UK, with a track record of excellence in clinical quality and innovation and an active and ambitious research program.
Main duties of the job
The postholder will be involved in the core medical retina services managing AMD, diabetic retinopathy, vein occlusions and other retinal pathologies. The post holder will also gain experience in retinal laser clinics. MREH has taken great pride in establishing a 'hub and spoke' model of care for macular clinics with the ability to provide care closer to home. This has enabled MREH to facilitate high quality, safe and patient-centred care for the local population. This post offers a unique experience to learn and contribute to innovative methods for managing capacity issues in this ever-growing sub-speciality and an opportunity for the post holder to work in our community clinics, after gaining the required clinical and leadership skills.
