This is a really exciting opportunity for an experienced public health practitioner to be the public health programme lead for the Health Protection programme area in Hull. This role leads the health protection programme area and includes outbreak response, vaccination, system assurance and broader leadership on place public health priorities.
It is a varied and high profile leadership role which includes partnership development, policy development / implementation and advocacy. Reducing the impact of health protection related inequalities in the city will be a key priority and the post holder will provide visible leadership for the Health Protection programme across the city and directly engage with local, regional, and national health protection partners and agencies to facilitate a joined up response to health protection incidents, develop and share good practice and innovate. The postholder will have direct managerial responsibility for two posts in the public health team.
This is a permanent appointment. We are looking for someone who is already experienced and committed to this area of work but also willing to continue to learn and develop professionally as part of the public health team. We are currently working flexibly with a hybrid of remote working and an office base at Warehouse 8, Hull City Council offices.
