To oversee and develop Ben View’s community programmes, ensuring effective supervision of staff and volunteers, and creating a positive impact on the local community. The programmes cover a diverse range of activities, including our youth programmes, family activities, food and warm hub initiatives, garden project, and thematic groups, which are tailored to meet evolving community needs. This role is directly involved in the delivery of the programmes
Main Responsibilities/Duties
1. Recruitment & Training: Assist the Manager in recruiting, inducting, and providing ongoing training for staff and volunteers, following SSSC Safer Recruitment guidelines.
2. Programme Support: Work directly with staff and volunteers to design, deliver, and support community programmes, ensuring they are effectively implemented and meet the needs of participants. This includes actively engaging in the delivery of services, alongside other team members, to ensure high-quality, impactful programmes.
3. Compliance: Ensure company policies, procedures, and risk assessments are up to date and adhered to by relevant parties.
4. Volunteer Promotion: Promote volunteering through recruitment, publicity campaigns, and strategies, both internally and externally.
5. Legislation & Policy Updates: Stay informed about legislation and policy related to volunteering, making necessary adjustments to comply with changes.
6. Direct Engagement: Provide direct support to groups or members providing programme delivery.
7. Monitoring & Evaluation: Oversee the accurate collection and analysis of statistics, ensuring the effective monitoring and evaluation of services.
8. Funding & Budgeting: Contribute to funding applications, monitor budgets, and track statistics for each funding stream.
9. Partnerships & Collaboration: Build and maintain relationships with other agencies, identifying opportunities for joint projects and shared resources.
10. Fundraising: Identify and lead new fundraising opportunities, both from the local community and corporate partners.
11. Administrative Duties: Maintain databases, manage administrative tasks, and ensure proficiency in Microsoft Office applications.
12. Health & Safety: Work with the Manager and staff to assess risks related to health and safety within the community programmes.
13. Other Duties: Undertake additional responsibilities as delegated by the Manager.
