We are also part of the Council's Public Health directorate and play an important role to play in advancing the health of residents and visitors to the County. Job Role/Key responsibilities An opportunity has arisen for a friendly, customer focused Technical Support Officer with administrative experience in a busy office environment. The role is varied, and you will need strong clerical skills, be able to work autonomously and as part of a team with minimal supervision and have good computer skills with experience of using Microsoft Office applications. In addition, the successful applicant will be able to use initiative and have excellent communication skills. Based within the Intelligence Management Team your role is vital in supporting front line and experienced trading standards service officers in protecting the people of Lancashire as well as supporting honest businesses. You will be responsible for dealing with telephone enquiries; directing enquiries to officers or signposting to other agencies as appropriate; taking messages; undertaking clerical tasks including transcribing recorded interviews, photocopying, scanning, sending standard letters; maintaining records; inputting computerised records; filing; processing purchase orders and invoices; cash handling; dealing with incoming and outgoing mail; maintaining supplies of stationery, leaflets and other office equipment; taking notes of meetings; as well as other administrative tasks. It’s a busy job and not one that can be done fully from home, you will need to come into County Hall Preston a few times a week. An ability to meet deadlines and prioritise workloads is essential as well as knowledge of Oracle Fusion when it comes to purchasing and invoicing.
