Team - Exploitation Reduction and Transitions
Hours: Full time, 37 hours per week
Part time, 30 hours per week
We are looking for two Support Workers to join our friendly Exploitation Reduction and Transitions Team within Adult Social Care.
We currently have the following vacancies:
* Full time, 37 hours per week
* Part time, 30 hours per week.
Working office hours, we can be flexible about how you work your hours to fit around any personal responsibilities you may have, whilst ensuring that work priorities are met.
Based at our Central Depot, Moat Lane, you will work closely with Social Workers in our Adult Exploitation Reduction Team and Children's Exploitation and Missing Teams. Within this rewarding role, you will make a real difference to young people aged 17 plus and adults who are being exploited or considered at risk of exploitation, by providing them with invaluable practical and emotional support. You will undertake direct work with young people to ensure they are supported with any transitional arrangements into adult care and support services.
As a Support Worker in Solihull, you will be working on a manageable caseload within an inclusive and supportive team culture with great scope for professional development.
You will have the opportunity to shape and improve the services we deliver and will be a valued member of the team. We have close partnerships across agencies in the borough and are a small and friendly local authority with good relationships across adult care and support.
You will need QCF Level 2 in Health and Social Care or a willingness to undertake this qualification within 12 months of appointment. You will also have:
* Paid or unpaid experience of working with adults with care and support needs and/or children
* Effective written and oral communication skills with experience of collaborative working to build effective working relationships
* Experience of demonstrating good practice which promotes choice, independence, and self-advocacy
* The ability to organise and manage a flexible workload.
As this is an essential car user post due to the demands of the job, you will also hold a driving licence and own your own vehicle and be within easy reach of the borough. For disabled applicants, reasonable adjustments will be made where required.
We also understand that our employees have commitments and interests outside work and encourage good work-life balance by offering a flexible and agile working environment. Working on a hybrid basis; this role will include a combination of home working and working at least one day per week in the office.
This is further complemented by generous annual leave entitlements with the opportunity to purchase up to 10-days additional leave per year, a flexitime scheme with up to 24 days per year, staff discounts, family and carer friendly policies and access to a career average pension scheme.
