Overview: An exciting opportunity has arisen for a band 7 BSE qualified Cardiac Physiologist to work at Harrogate district hospital. We will require the candidate to rotate to our CDC hub at Ripon.
We are happy to consider job share, flexible working and part time hours.
Newly accredited Band 6 candidates would also be considered to start the position at Band 6 level as a developmental post. The candidate would then progress to Band 7 level once agreed competencies have been met.
The post holder should be competent to issue independent reports, provide teaching and mentorship to other team members and undertake quality control of reporting and images within the team. Our core hours are 8 till 5, usually over a 9-day fortnight.
As part of your role, we would expect you to take on some line management responsibilities, such as organising staff rotas and performing a small number of appraisals.
Main duties of the job
* Independently perform ultrasound scans on a range of outpatients and inpatients, including adult congenital heart disease patients (ACHD), recording and interpreting images obtained.
* You will work to British Society of Echocardiography standards, and adhere to all protocols and guidelines of the society.
* Vetting and triage of reports.
* Monitor wait times and alert service managers to issues in a timely manner.
* Partake in the team quality control of reports and images.
* Formulate detailed Echo reports to be personally verified and issued to consultants.
* Undertake clinical supervision and training of junior and trainee physiology staff and other professional groups.
* Participate in Continuing Professional Development and other developmental activities, including research and clinical trials.
* Work with Team Leaders and the Service Manager in further developing the clinical physiology service.
* Maintain professional registration at all times.
* Be responsible for the care and maintenance of the ultrasound equipment.

Qualifications
* BSE accredited.
* BSc hons in clinical physiology.
* 3 years experience.
* ILS.
Experience
* At least 3 years experience as an echo cardiographer.
* Experience of physiologist led valve clinics and/or physiologist led stress echo service.

Salary: £46,148 to £52,809 per annum pro rata.
