JOB SUMMARY
As a Power Electronics Engineer in Ireland, your knowledge of power electronics and control theory will help develop cutting-edge solutions for a wide range of applications. While firmware design is not required, a basic understanding of control theory is highly advantageous.
RESPONSIBILITIES
* Design and development of advanced SMPS (Switched-Mode Power Supply) systems, including AC-DC and DC-DC converters, ensuring high performance, reliability, and efficiency.
* Design and optimize power supply circuits, including transformer design, magnetics, and PCB layouts, focusing on EMI/EMC compliance and thermal performance.
* Drive continuous improvement initiatives to enhance efficiency, performance, and reliability in existing and new products.
* Contribute to the company’s roadmap by identifying new opportunities for innovation in power electronics.
SKILLS & EDUCATION
* Degree in Electronics/Electrical Engineering or a related field.
* At least 5 years of experience in power electronics or power supply design.
* Experience in the design and development of Switched-Mode Power Supplies (SMPS) for various applications.
* Proven hands-on experience in designing AC/DC and DC/DC power supplies, including low, medium, and high-power systems.
* Power Topology Proficiency ie. Buck, Boost, Buck-Boost, Flyback, Half-Bridge.
* Expertise in designing LLC resonant converters and deep understanding of magnetics design.
* Experience with EMI/EMC design considerations and mitigation techniques in power electronics.
