Clinical Psychologist with an interest in working in Adult Diabetes Outpatients - B8C 1wte permanent post
An exciting opportunity has arisen for a permanent B8C Clinical Psychologist with an interest in working in Adult Diabetes Outpatients. The post holder will be expected to lead on the development, coordination and delivery of a new clinical psychology service to Diabetes services at NUH and to provide psychological support for adults within Diabetes. This work will involve working closely with the MDT staff within Diabetes Services.
We are looking for a motivated and enthusiastic Clinical Psychologist with a significant interest and experience in Clinical Health Psychology. It is essential that the post-holder will have a doctorate level clinical psychology professional qualification and be HCPC registered. The post holder will be employed by Nottingham University Hospitals NHS Trust and will be required to work at both City and QMC Campus. Applicants must have the personal qualities and resilience to be able to work in a busy acute trust setting.
The successful applicant will be part of the expanding Department of Clinical Psychology & Neuropsychology at NUH. The department has excellent links with the University of Nottingham and the Trent Clinical Psychology Doctorate Course.

5. Sound clinical risk assessment and management
6. Experience of developing staff support and supervision for members of the MDT
7. Experience of developing talking therapy pathways with other service providers
8. Training and experience of supervising therapists and other clinical staff
Person Specification
Training & Qualifications
Essential
* HPC registration as a Practitioner Psychologist
* Post-graduate doctoral level (or equivalent) training in clinical psychology as accredited by the BPS
Desirable
* Post-doctoral training/study in one or more additional specialised areas of psychological practice
* Additional study/qualifications in illness or health psychology and related treatment
Experience
Essential
* Substantial post-qualification experience of working with adults within an acute hospital working with patients with complex medical conditions.
* Substantial post-qualification experience of working with people with chronic medical health conditions.
* Experience of exercising full clinical responsibility for clients' psychological care and treatment and in the context of multidisciplinary team working.
* Experience of teaching, training and/or professional and clinical supervision to health professionals and qualified clinical psychologists.
Desirable
* Experience of working with adults with diabetes
* Experience of managing/supervising qualified/pre-qualified psychologists.
* Experience of leadership and management.
