This is an exciting opportunity to join a fantastic team and be part of the Oldham Care Organisation's Accident and Emergency Department whilst studying your fully funded apprenticeship route to gain a MSc in Advanced Practice. The overall training programme is 24 month long (MSc), on successful completion the post will progress to 8a grade. The programme has also been accredited by Health Education England.
We are looking to recruit Trainee Advanced Clinical Practitioners who have clinical experience in emergency/urgent care who are ready to take the next step in their clinical career.
You will work within a dynamic multi-disciplinary team, under the supervision of the Emergency Medicine Consultant's and Advanced Clinical Practitioners to enhance the patient experience through the delivery of excellent patient-focused care.
You must have proven experience in your clinical specialty and be able to demonstrate the motivation required to take on an ACP role.
The successful candidate will be paid at a Band 7. Upon completion of the MSC in Advanced Practice the successful candidate will progress to a Band 8A Advanced Clinical Practitioner.
Main duties of the job
The post holder will practice under supervision as a trainee Advanced Clinical Practitioner (tACP) within the Accident and Emergency in order to provide high quality patient centred care. This will encompass utilising advanced assessment, diagnostic and treatment skills within an agreed scope of practice based. The post holder will assist in the safe referral, admission or discharge of patients of all age groups attending the Accident and Emergency Department with undifferentiated and undiagnosed presentations.
* Provide direct expert professional clinical care through health assessment, initiation of treatment, formulation and alteration of treatment and monitoring of care programs
* Facilitate the development of clinical practice through research and education of the multi-disciplinary team
* Evaluate care through quality assurance initiatives and assessment of clinical outcomes
* Be an expert resource for other healthcare practitioners
* Ensure that the highest standards of clinical care are delivered
* The post holder will ensure the maintenance of clinical excellence
* The post holder will provide specialist clinical leadership within this area of care and will lead and develop specialist education
