Job Description
Technical Engineering Support (TES) is an engineering firm with over 30 years of experience, specializing in test coordination, industrial commissioning, design studies, and equipment assembly coordination. We are currently seeking a Piping Engineering Construction – NDT CEL (f/m) for the Hinkley-Point EPR project in the UK.
The role involves managing the HPC Non-Destructive Testing (NDT) contract, which includes standard NDT processes such as Radiography, Ultrasonic Testing, Dye Penetrant Testing, Magnetic Particle Inspection, and specialized Phased Array Ultrasonic Testing (PAUT).
Team and Budget Overview
* MEH End-to-End Engineering team: approx. 120 engineers
* Piping Engineering team: approx. 40 engineers
* Piping Construction Engineering team: currently 9 engineers, expanding to meet onsite workload
Budget Responsibilities: Managing the £800m scope of the MEH JV contract related to piping, electrical, and HVAC installation, in close coordination with the Programme Senior Project Manager.
Key Responsibilities
* Work closely with the NDT Contract Project Manager and Technical Lead
* Support documentation management by producing and updating the List of Documents and Surveillance Plan
* Develop and implement onsite PAUT solutions to replace radiography
* Address technical queries and early warnings
* Coordinate activities between the Installation and NDT contracts
Essential Skills, Qualifications & Experience
* Proven experience in NDT and/or contract engineering roles
* Meticulous and rigorous engineering approach
* Ability to deliver engineering safely, on time, within budget
* Strong leadership and stakeholder influence skills
* Autonomous work capability with awareness of limitations
* Knowledge of contractual and commercial mechanisms
* Basic knowledge of NDT techniques
Desirable Skills, Qualifications & Experience
* Degree in a related engineering field
* Chartered Engineer status
* Experience with PWR design and operations
