About the role Our Public Spaces Maintenance Team has multiple temporary full-time opportunities available in the position of Skilled Field Operator. You will be responsible for performing all duties associated with the safe operation of Council’s vehicles, minor plant machinery and the transportation of staff members, equipment and materials. You will also perform general labouring duties when required. This position does require knowledge and use of Council’s Mobility system. You may be required to work from any of Council’s Depots. This position operates on a 76-hour fortnight with a Rostered Day Off once a fortnight. Essential criteria Current Class C driver licence Knowledge of all aspects of operation and maintenance of trucks, vans, ride-ons and trailers including loading, securing and unloading (both mechanical and manual means) Demonstrated experience in general labouring duties Demonstrated ability to communicate effectively Demonstrated ability to work in a team environment Competencies in the sue of various items of small plant Work Safely in the Construction Industry (White) Card Knowledge of and commitment to WHS and EEO principles. Commencing salary: $59,282.00 - $68,622.00 per annum, plus 11.5% superannuation and an Adverse Working Conditions Allowance in accordance with the Local Government (State) Award.
