The Role
:
As an Accounts Assistant, you will collaborate with Directors and team members to ensure seamless practice operations, offering excellent service to all clients.
Responsibilities:
1. Reconcile bank and control accounts in client bookkeeping software.
2. Analyse general ledger and journal entries.
3. Use online software (mainly QuickBooks Online, occasionally Xero and Sage).
4. Process costs and expenses with automation software (DEXT).
5. Manage sales and purchase ledgers.
6. Perform bank reconciliations.
7. Handle payroll and CIS journals.
8. Conduct basic Corporation Tax work.
9. Assist with corporation tax tasks post accounts preparation.
10. Prepare and submit VAT returns following bookkeeping tasks.
11. Review and check clients' bookkeeping for standalone VAT preparation.
Requirements:
12. Previously worked as an Accounts Assistant or in a similar role.
13. At least 2 years of experience working within accountancy practice.
14. Prior experience with Sole Traders and Limited Companies.
15. AAT qualified or currently studying
16. Skilled in Microsoft products (Word, Excel, Outlook).
17. Familiarity with QuickBooks Online software. (Beneficial)
Shifts:
18. Monday - Thursday: 09:00 - 17:00
19. Friday: 09:00 - 15:00
