Role Overview:
Our client is looking for a passionate and experienced Psychologist or Therapeutic Practitioner to join their expanding team in the South Midlands. This role focuses on supporting young people and their families through targeted psychological interventions, with the aim of promoting mental well-being and facilitating their reintegration into a nurturing family environment. You’ll have the flexibility of hybrid working, combining home-based tasks with in-person client engagement throughout the week.
Key Responsibilities:
1. Clinical Care and Client Support:
o Conduct comprehensive psychological assessments and deliver therapeutic interventions for young people and families.
o Provide culturally informed, individual and group therapy sessions.
o Develop risk management plans and act as a key worker in care plan reviews and Team Around the Child (TAC) meetings.
2. Collaboration and Service Delivery:
o Work within a psychologically informed framework to support the clinical service’s operations.
o Collaborate with healthcare professionals, referrers, and local agencies to ensure effective care planning and service delivery.
o Ensure services are accessible and responsive to the needs of diverse communities.
3. Service Development:
o Participate in service improvement projects and contribute to shaping organizational policies.
o Engage young people in the planning and evaluation of services, ensuring they are tailored to their needs.
4. Supervision and Leadership:
o Provide clinical supervision to junior practitioners and assistant psychologists (post-qualification).
o Support and supervise team members, ensuring high-quality service delivery.
o Receive regular supervision from the Clinical Lead to support your development.
5. Training and Professional Development:
o Deliver specialist training in psychological care to staff and external professionals.
o Contribute to service improvement through presenting research and evaluation findings.
o Stay current with developments in clinical practice and relevant legislation.
6. Record-Keeping and Research:
o Maintain meticulous clinical records and reports in line with organizational standards.
o Conduct service evaluations, audits, and research to ensure best practices are followed.
What We're Looking For:
Education: Postgraduate qualification in Psychology (Clinical, Forensic, Applied, etc.) or a related therapeutic discipline.
Experience: Minimum of 2 years in therapeutic services, particularly in Health and Social Care, with experience in working with children and young people. Experience with learning disabilities and mental health is a plus.
Other Requirements: A valid driving license is essential. Flexibility to work across a wide geographic area, with occasional weekend availability.
Additional Details:
Schedule: Monday to Friday, with occasional weekend work.
Supervision: Report to the Clinical Lead.
Location: Hybrid work model (home and office-based).
