Exciting Opportunity: Senior Software Engineer
Are you ready to embark on a transformative journey in the agricultural sector, leveraging cutting-edge technology to shape the future of farming? This company is seeking a dynamic and proactive Senior Software Engineer to join their team in Shropshire.
This role is working day shifts Monday to Friday (37 hours per week) and it comes with an attractive salary up to £75,000 per annum (DOE).
The hiring manager is looking for someone who can be based predominantly in the office most of the working week, so remote working opportunities could be available and discussed during the interview process.
A relocation package can also be offered for the right person, but we are looking for someone who is already based in the UK, SPONSORSHIP IS NOT AVAILABLE.
We are looking for someone who has experience with ROS, ROS2 and Linux; previous experience with ADAS and nVIDIA would be highly advantageous.
What You Will Do:
* Take ownership of the Guidance Control Unit, ensuring its seamless operation and integration.
* Define and align software architecture for various layers of ADAS, including Vision, Perception, and Actuation, while managing software interface requirements with global partners and suppliers.
* Maintain base system software (OS, Middleware, etc.) and define dependencies across partners and suppliers.
* Verify and validate module-level software releases from partners and suppliers, ensuring the highest standards of quality and functionality.
* Manage Guidance Software release processes, including change management, to support continuous improvement and innovation.
* Lead and mentor a junior engineer, fostering a culture of excellence and teamwork within the autonomy development team.
What You Will Bring:
* A Master's or Bachelor's degree in Robotics, Mechatronics, Electronics, Computer Science, or a related field, with 6 to 10 years of relevant experience.
* Proficiency in ROS2, Linux for Tegra, and experience with nVIDIA AGX Orin/XAVIER platforms.
* A solid understanding of the autonomy software stack and its foundational components.
* Familiarity with software application lifecycle processes and development methodologies, including experience with ALM and PLM tools for embedded systems.
* Desirable skills include knowledge of vision and camera-related sensors, ML/DL approaches for autonomous driving, and an understanding of the agricultural domain.
