Our client, a leader in innovative technology solutions, is seeking a dedicated Field Service Engineer with expertise in electronics, fault tracing, and hands-on support to join their team based in Lowestoft, UK.
About the Role:
As a Field Service Engineer, you will play a key role within our client’s Production team, assembling, servicing, and enhancing specialist equipment. Primarily based in Lowestoft, this position also includes international travel on occasions to provide on-site support, training, and commissioning at customer locations. You will work closely with the Design, Sales, and Production teams to support new and existing products, using your technical skills to drive quality and innovation. This position is an excellent opportunity for someone who enjoys hands-on troubleshooting.
Key Responsibilities:
1. Engage in the manufacture, repair, and fault tracing of electronic equipment, focusing on both analog and digital systems.
2. Provide on-site support, training, and technical assistance for customers internationally, occasionally at short notice.
3. Diagnose and resolve faults to the component level, with knowledge of microcontroller programming.
4. Act as a product specialist, liaising with Sales, Design, and Production teams to improve product functionality and user experience.
5. Offer design input, product feedback, and insights to enhance the reliability and effectiveness of products.
6. Maintain accurate records and documentation for product improvements and changes, contributing to the overall product database and development processes.
What You’ll Bring:
1. Demonstrated expertise in electronic fault-finding and troubleshooting.
2. Experience with microcontroller-based programming.
3. A proactive, self-sufficient approach to problem-solving, with a readiness for international travel on occasions, as and when required.
4. Strong communication skills, with the ability to communicate across all levels.
5. A full UK driving license and a valid passport.
