Roles and Responsibilities Advising clients on a wide range of employment matters, including employment documentation, policies, disciplinary processes, family-friendly issues, redundancies, and GDPR compliance. Managing employment tribunal litigation, including drafting Grounds of Resistance and Particulars of Claim, attending Preliminary Hearings, and handling case management steps. Conducting due diligence for transactions, addressing "red flag" issues, drafting warranties and indemnities, and advising on TUPE. Advising senior executives on optimizing severance terms upon exit. Handling employment and partnership disputes (familiarity with High Court CPR is an asset but not essential). Managing an independent caseload with minimal supervision and drafting complex documents using appropriate precedents. Applying a commercially focused approach to research and delivering accurate advice. Delegating and supervising the work of junior team members as needed. Supporting Partners in client marketing and business development to grow the client base and team’s network. Contributing to group knowledge and know-how initiatives. Complying with relevant legal and regulatory obligations, including the Solicitors Regulation Authority (SRA) Standards, Regulations, and Principles. Skills and Experience Proven experience conducting employment tribunal proceedings for both Respondents and Claimants. Knowledge of employment data protection, privacy issues, and handling Data Subject Access Requests. Experience in business development activities, such as article writing and networking. Advising on transactions for buyers and sellers, including TUPE matters. Expertise in employment status issues, drafting service contracts, and dealing with worker status. Skilled in handling grievances, performance issues, and disciplinary processes. Familiarity with dismissals within financial services and related regulatory issues (preferred but not essential). Capable of presenting employment training to peers and clients. Person Specification Qualified in England and Wales (or equivalent), ideally with 5 years of PQE. Confident working independently and as part of a team. Willing to support a busy, high-growth team. Strong time management skills and the ability to meet tight deadlines. Able to build effective relationships at all levels. Skilled in clear, effective communication with a diverse client base. Flexible and ready to go the extra mile. Results-oriented and pragmatic approach. Willingness to engage in business development to elevate the team’s internal and external profile. Capable of balancing team and independent work.
