Join our inclusive educational psychology service as an Area Senior Educational Psychologist and support our commitment to fostering an environment based on clear values of kindness, compassion, genuineness, integrity, optimism, and growth.
Due to our positive reputation within the Local Authority, we are able to offer a wide breadth of work, including over 50 projects in addition to our traded work with settings and extensive supervision and coaching opportunities.
Our person-centred approaches ensure that the voices of children and young people are respected and inform our planning. Join us to make a difference and contribute to the educational and emotional wellbeing of children and young people in Hampshire.
What You'll Do:
* Work with the Principal Educational Psychologist and Area Senior Educational Psychologist colleagues to flexibly deliver high quality educational psychology services and promote inclusive practices.
* Contribute to the development and implementation of Hampshire County Council and Hampshire Educational Psychology’s policy and practice frameworks.
* Lead and manage the East team of educational psychologists (EPs) and shape and influence their development. Oversee the recruitment, induction, supervision, appraisal, and performance of senior, trainee, and EPs, providing their professional supervision and line management.
* Build and establish multi-agency networks and working partnerships that support joint strategic planning and service delivery across Children’s Services, ensuring coordinated working arrangements for children, families, and schools.
* Manage and balance workloads and nurture relationships with Special Educational Needs Team, other professionals, and education setting staff.
What We're Looking For:
* A fully qualified, HCPC registered practising educational psychologist (EP).
* Successful experience in a Local Authority EPS and knowledge of the statutory and policy framework guiding the work of educational psychologists.
* An experienced manager of educational psychologists with the ability to prioritise and manage own, and others’ workloads, successfully working to strict deadlines.
* Demonstrable commitment to applying psychology to support children and young people with their educational achievement, inclusion, and mental health and well-being within a value-led framework.
* Professionally resilient, optimistic, and solution-oriented with a problem-solving mindset.
Why Join Us:
* Supportive environment: We pride ourselves on our supportive ethos, with supervision viewed as essential and a strong emphasis placed on induction and CPD.
* Professional growth: We have strong links with the University of Southampton, hosting many TEPs each year and being involved in the Programme Board. We provide additional professional development opportunities for all our EPs through local and national CPD offers. We offer opportunities to lead and participate in over 50 projects, including those for Emotionally Based School Avoidance (EBSA) and Neurodiversity.
* Inclusive culture: We foster an environment based on clear values of kindness, compassion, genuineness, integrity, optimism, and growth. Our emphasis on person-centred approaches ensures that the voice of children and young people is respected and informs planning.
* Employee support: Access to Health Assured's comprehensive Employee Assistance Programme to support your physical and mental wellbeing, including 24/7 telephone support, a suite of online resources, and legal and financial advice.
* Competitive benefits package: Including generous annual leave entitlement, occupational sick pay, and access to the Local Government Pension Scheme.
Applicants can expect to hear from us within two weeks of the advertised closing date.
