THE ROLE
As a Housing Support Worker, you will play a vital role in engaging with referral agencies and supporting service users to achieve positive outcomes. Key responsibilities include:
* Engage with local authorities, statutory, and voluntary agencies to generate referrals.
* Plan and deliver effective support and safety plans, regularly reviewing and updating progress.
* Ensure properties are well-maintained, furnished, and clean.
* Issue correct tenure and support agreements, ensuring compliance.
* Empower service users to achieve their desired outcomes and actively involve them in decision-making.
* Develop early move-on plans, identifying realistic housing options.
* Support service users with domestic tasks, providing practical assistance where necessary.
THE CANDIDATE
The ideal candidate will have previous experience in a similar role, supporting vulnerable individuals. Additionally, you will have:
* Experience in engaging with referral agencies and local authorities.
* Strong understanding of homelessness prevention and support services.
* Ability to manage and maintain housing properties effectively.
* Excellent communication skills, both written and verbal.
* Ability to work independently and as part of a team, with a focus on service user empowerment.
