Description
The AC Protection and Control Lead Engineer will be technically responsible for the definition, costing, and delivery of AC protection and control solutions in tender work as well as in execution projects. Detailed design and manufacturing will be sourced to sub-suppliers.
Your responsibilities
1. Translate customer specifications and protection schemes into conceptual design, and formulate clear requirements to our sub-suppliers.
2. Evaluate sub-supplier quotes based on the specified requirements and future design.
3. Continuously monitor the design and manufacturing process, as well as lead the design team in the dialogue with our customers, suppliers, and other stakeholders.
4. Review detailed protection panel design, including interfaces to main components and intercommunication links.
5. Ensure compatibility between functional requirements, panel design, relay configuration, and settings prior to Factory Acceptance Testing (FAT).
6. Review suppliers' test programs and supervise Factory Acceptance Testing (FAT).
7. Remotely assist installation and Site Acceptance Testing (SAT) as needed.
Your background
1. A wide experience in protection and control systems for MV/HV AC substations.
2. Bachelor's degree in Electrical Engineering or similar.
3. Good understanding of relay protection schemes, including protection, control, measurement, and supervision functionalities.
4. Knowledge of various brands of protective relays and their applications.
5. General know-how in protection and control panel design, including typical business requirements and best practices.
6. Experience in power systems studies and grid codes, with the ability to evaluate the correctness of protection coordination and setting calculations.
7. Good understanding of configurations and testing requirements for protection systems.
8. Experience in reading technical specifications and managing sub-suppliers.
