In this important role, you will be integral to delivering the highest standard of care to our patients undergoing fertility treatments. You will assist during surgical procedures, ensuring the operating theatre is prepared, safe, and ready for a smooth process. Your presence will make a difference in ensuring patient safety and comfort at all times, supporting both the surgical team and the patient through every step of their treatment journey. Key Responsibilities: Assist in the operating theatre during surgical procedures, including preparing equipment, ensuring sterilisation, and providing support to the anaesthetist and surgeon. Ensure patient safety and comfort during surgery and recovery, acting with urgency in emergencies. Provide expert pre and post-operative care in the recovery room, including administering medications, performing checks, and assisting in patient recovery. Maintain high standards of infection control and patient safety in all areas. Support the development of fellow staff, acting as a mentor and facilitator for less experienced colleagues. Participate in quality audits, risk management, and contribute to improving patient care practices. Continuously update your knowledge on fertility treatments and apply this knowledge to better assist and educate patients about their care. Professional Development & Education: Participate in training and development programs, including CRGH orientation, mandatory courses, and clinical supervision. Stay current with developments in anaesthetic nursing, attending relevant courses and maintaining a professional portfolio. Assist in the delivery of educational programs for both staff and students, helping to foster a learning environment. Take part in performance appraisals, setting personal goals and contributing to the improvement of clinical practice. Qualifications & Skills: Registered Nurse (NMC) with a strong foundation in anaesthetics and patient care. Previous theatre and recovery room experience highly desirable. Excellent communication skills and the ability to work as part of a cohesive team. Understanding of and commitment to patient confidentiality, equality, and dignity.
