Job Description:
CPL’s Health division is currently recruiting Band 3 Mental Health Support Workers to help patients with severe mental health conditions.
This NHS service is going through some changes, and practitioners are needed to work with a list of cases, meeting clients face to face to assess their mental state and establish their current needs. This is essential for the Multi-Disciplinary Team to form a plan for that client, which the practitioner will then carry out.
This team sits within a larger recovery team and works with clients who are not in crisis but may need some support, signposting, or brief intervention before their care can be transferred back to the GP or the local primary care mental health team.
Knowledge and experience of working with people with mental health difficulties is therefore needed, although training and support will be provided. The wider team consists of psychiatrists, CPNs, psychologists, social workers, OTs, and support workers.
Once clients are stable in their mental state, there is an expectation that their care will be transferred to the Primary Care mental health team. You will be expected to carry a caseload of 30+, working with very extreme mental health conditions, including cases that could sometimes be suicidal.
Skills/Experience:
Knowledge and experience of working with people with severe mental health difficulties.
Rates up to £14 per hour umbrella.
