An opportunity has arisen for a Legal Cashier to join a highly regarded Commercial Law Firm which prides itself on its professional ethos.
This position is part of the Accounts team, which consists of 3 members, reporting directly to the Operations and Finance Director. As part of the Accounts department, your primary responsibility will be to support the financial operations, ensuring smooth and efficient processes. Initially, your focus will be on managing client accounts, but you will also provide assistance with office accounts during staff absences or holidays.

Key Responsibilities:
1. Responsible for conducting daily bank reconciliations.
2. Process payments such as invoices ensuring all transactions are documented correctly.
3. Process CHAPS and BACS payments efficiently and on time.
4. Conduct inter-account transfers as needed.
5. Assist with billing where required.
6. Monitoring bank accounts for payments received.
7. Allocation of client receipts.
8. Cheques in/out (client & office).
9. Emails & general queries.
10. Land Registry posting.
11. Generate fee earner reports.
12. Ensure full compliance with Solicitors Accounts Rules (SAR) and internal policies.
13. Respond to emails and generate account queries promptly.
What the employer is looking for:
1. Previous experience as a Legal Cashier.
2. You will have previous experience working in a Professional Service firm.
3. Strong attention to detail.
4. Understanding of legal accounting procedures.
5. Excellent interpersonal skills with colleagues and the ability to communicate with Partners.
6. Adaptable and flexible approach.
7. Excellent attention to detail and organisational skills.
8. Ability to prioritise workload and meet tight deadlines.
9. In depth knowledge of solicitor's accounts rules.
10. Confidence in using Outlook, Excel & online banking.
