My Shrewsbury based client is currently recruiting for a Quality Engineer on a permanent basis.

Reporting direct to the Quality Manager, you will be a meticulous and experienced Quality Engineer. The ideal candidate will have a strong background in quality inspection and experience with Production Part Approval Process (PPAP). The Quality Engineer will be responsible for ensuring our products meet the highest standards of quality and reliability by implementing and maintaining quality assurance processes, conducting inspections, overseeing PPAP documentation and approvals, and conducting technical reviews of documents and drawings.
Key Responsibilities:
* Conduct detailed inspections of raw materials, in-process production, and finished
* Develop, implement, and maintain inspection plans, procedures, and work instructions.
* Utilise various measurement tools and techniques to verify product specifications.
* Record and analyse inspection data, identify trends, and recommend corrective actions.
* Collaborate with production teams to resolve quality issues and implement continuous improvement initiatives.
* Lead the PPAP process for new and existing products, ensuring all required documentation is complete and accurate.
* Prepare and submit PPAP packages to customers, addressing any feedback or requirements they may have.
* Maintain and update PPAP records, ensuring compliance with customer and industry standards.
* Conduct capability studies and measurement system analysis (MSA) as part of the PPAP process.
* Review and approve engineering drawings, specifications, and related documents to ensure accuracy, completeness, and compliance with standards.
* Provide feedback on technical documents to ensure clarity and feasibility.
* Ensure all revisions of documents and drawings are properly recorded and controlled.
* Collaborate with the engineering team to resolve discrepancies and improve design quality.
* Develop and maintain quality assurance documentation, including control plans, FMEAs, and process flow diagrams.
* Support root cause analysis and corrective action processes for non-conforming products.
* Participate in internal and external quality audits, addressing any findings or recommendations.
* Ensure compliance with relevant industry standards and regulations (e.g., ISO 9001).
* Drive continuous improvement initiatives to enhance product quality and manufacturing efficiency.
Skills and Experience:-
* Minimum of 5 years of experience in quality engineering, with a focus on inspection and PPAP.
* Proficiency in using inspection tools and techniques (e.g., callipers, micrometres, shadow graphs).
* Strong understanding of PPAP requirements and procedures.
* Experience with quality management systems and standards (e.g., ISO 9001).
* Excellent problem-solving and analytical skills.
* Experience with statistical process control (SPC) and quality improvement methodologies.
* Familiarity with manufacturing processes relevant to our industry.
* This position may require occasional travel to suppliers and customer sites.
* Must be able to work in a manufacturing environment and adhere to all safety protocols.
