Job Description Management Accountant Overview We are seeking an experienced Management Accountant to join our client’s finance team in Selby on a temporary basis. This is an excellent opportunity to contribute to a dynamic business with ambitious growth plans while driving improvements in processes and controls. Benefits Competitive salary of £40,000–£45,000 (£20.51 - £23.07 per hour) Temporary ongoing contract with immediate start. Responsibilities Prepare and deliver accurate monthly management accounts, including P&L, Balance Sheet, and Cashflow reporting. Provide detailed variance analysis to budgets, forecasts, and prior-year performance. Partner with revenue-generating departments to understand variances and provide actionable insights. Manage cashflow forecasts and oversee bank, savings, and credit card accounts. Ensure accurate reconciliations of Deferred and Accrued Income. Support financial planning and forecasting processes. Oversee year-end audit processes, ensuring timely completion. Line manage and support the Assistant Management Accountant, conducting regular 1-2-1s to drive performance and development. Provide technical finance expertise on projects and ad-hoc requests. Qualifications ACA, ACCA, or CIMA qualified (or qualified by experience). Minimum of two years’ post-qualification experience, ideally in a financial accounting role within a technology or service-based business. Strong technical accounting knowledge with excellent Excel and report-writing skills. Experience managing and developing team members. Proactive, flexible, and motivated, with excellent communication and relationship-building skills. Familiarity with robust financial control environments. Desirable Experience using NetSuite or Oracle. Immediate availability is essential, and flexible working hours may be considered for the right candidate.
