Key Responsibilities: - Material Handling: Transport materials from receiving or production areas to designated locations using manual or electric hand trucks. - Kitting Materials: Prepare and kit materials for delivery to the manufacturing line. - 5S Inspections: Conduct regular 5S inspections to maintain a clean and efficient workspace. - Safety and Compliance: Adhere to and promote EHS best practices, aligning fully with GE EHS standards. Knowledge and Expertise: - Transportation Methods: Proficiency in road, sea, air, and multimodal freight. - Specialized Freight: Experience with dangerous goods, heavy lifts, and oversized loads. - Industrial Packing and Import/Export: Knowledge of industrial packing techniques and import/export procedures. Shift Flexibility: - Shift Patterns: Early and late shifts (6am - 2pm and 2pm - 10pm, Monday - Thursday), with shorter shifts on Fridays. - Shift Premium: Additional allowance for shift work beyond base salary. - Future Shifts: Potential for minor adjustments as production increases and stabilizes. The Ideal Candidate: - Education and Experience: Good general education and proven experience in material handling. - Technical Skills: Familiarity with computerized stores management systems (SAP knowledge is a plus) and understanding of Kanban/FIFO systems. - Certifications: Forklift truck operator certificate. Counterbalance/Aisle Master and Multi-Directional (Combi) licenses are desirable. - Personal Attributes: - Strong interpersonal and communication skills. - Self-motivated, proactive, and results driven. - Able to meet deadlines while maintaining high quality standards. - Proficiency in English (additional languages are a bonus). - Willingness to work flexible shift patterns to meet production needs.
