Our client is looking for an experienced, full time Mechanical/Electrical Technician to join their team in a full-time position. Salary: £30,000 - £40,000 per annum Hours: Full-time (37.5 hours per week)- Core working hours 10am-4pm Monday to Thursday, finishing at 1 on Friday Career Growth: Opportunity to develop new skills and work on diverse technical tasks across mechanical and electrical systems Varied Role: Engage in a range of tasks from part fitting and assembly to site visits and machine operation Key Responsibilities: Manual Machining: Operate mills and lathes, ensuring high precision and quality in all parts produced Grinding: Perform machine grinding tasks and change discs as necessary, with a focus on maintaining machine efficiency and high standards CNC Setting and Operation: Set and operate CNC machines and assist with on-machine programming Part Inspection: Conduct part inspections using hand tools, with a willingness to learn CMM and Arm-style machines for more advanced inspections Assembly Support: Help with part/system assembly as needed, contributing to the smooth flow of the production process Precision Part Fitting: Ensure accurate and precise fitting of parts to meet specifications Electrical Safety: Appreciate the importance of electrical safety systems and adhere to safe working practices when dealing with electrical components Site Visits: Support occasional site visits for service or installation, providing both mechanical and electrical support Driving & Forklift: A valid UK driving license is essential; forklift experience or a willingness to learn is preferred Skills, Experience, and Training: Experience: Proven experience as a manual machinist with expertise in operating mills, lathes, and performing machine grinding tasks CNC Expertise: Experience in CNC setting and programming Part Inspection: Strong ability to use precision hand tools and a desire to learn more advanced inspection techniques Electrical Safety: Understanding of electrical safety standards and systems is advantageous Problem-Solving: Strong troubleshooting and problem-solving skills, with the ability to tackle both mechanical and electrical issues Driving License: A valid UK driving license is required; forklift qualification or willingness to obtain one is ideal Welding Knowledge: An appreciation of welding processes would be beneficial Team Player: Ability to collaborate with colleagues across departments and contribute to team goals How to Apply: If you’re a highly skilled technician with a strong background in mechanical and electrical systems, we want to hear from you.
