Reward: £35k - 43k band for an experienced hire

We are attracting a Metrology and Calibration Technician / Engineer / maintenance systems specialist to join the Greater Manchester facility.
Job Role: To coordinate and carry out routine maintenance and calibration of all laboratory equipment.
Role Responsibilities:
1. Working within the Metrology Division of the Engineering department, provide metrology support for all equipment systems, troubleshooting and rectifying equipment breakdowns.
2. Plan and schedule service and calibration engineering visits.
3. Carry out routine maintenance and calibration tasks on schedule to ensure that laboratory equipment remains in service and valid for use (i.e., Pipettes, Balances, Incubators etc.).
4. Coordinate maintenance and collaboration documentation compliance requirements.
5. Initiate/upgrade preventive maintenance and calibration process specifications.
6. Maintain SOP for instrumentation/metrology.
7. Maintain an accurate inventory of instruments, consumables, and spare parts. Work closely with Supply Chain to ensure inventory records and database are kept up to date.
8. Act as liaison with outside contractors and vendors for equipment repairs or contract maintenance.
Role Requirements:
1. A' Level, or equivalent qualification in a relevant engineering or scientific discipline.
2. Experience in calibration and/or maintenance support for a manufacturing company, or equivalent, with demonstrated skills in writing complex calibration SOPs and technical operating procedures.
3. Understanding of technical metrology requirements, assisting calibration specifications, coordinating, and monitoring new equipment.
4. Demonstrable experience working in a cGMP environment to ISO or FDA regulatory standards is desirable.
5. Good planning skills to produce project timelines.
6. Candidates who are currently a Life Sciences Graduate, Engineering graduate, calibration engineer, systems metrologist, metrology technician, maintenance specialist, or Laboratory Technician may be suitable for this position.
