About this role: The Senior Compliance Analyst plays a critical role in supporting the company’s adherence to legal and regulatory standards, conducting complex analyses and providing guidance to internal teams on compliance matters. The incumbent may handle advanced projects, cases or tasks, leveraging their comprehensive knowledge to enhance International Trade & Compliance controls, processes and risk management. (Due to the global nature of the role and the specific support required for China, a Mandarin speaking candidate is preferred.) Accountabilities: Maintain commodity and control code tables in SAP Audit and classify product according to the General Rules of Interpretation and Harmonized Tariff Schedules and assists with maintaining classification databases Update commodity codes and control codes on new products at the material/plant combination level in SAP and GTM Review the classification of products that have been extended to new plants, populate commodity and control codes, review other plant locations and make any corrections as needed Screen new SAP and non-SAP customers and suppliers and CRM prospects to proactively identify any red flags. Obtain, modify, and load customer and vendor details and load into Thomson Reuters OneSource or MK Denial continuous screening tool Screens other parties on ad-hoc basis as needed Review and document product related mapping for forced labor regulations and other ESG initiatives that have trade and customs related touchpoints Identify and mitigate risks associated with noncompliance concerns, supply chain disruptions, and the accurate application of Incoterms and IOR/EOR liability Assist with automation of processes and reports for internal and external reporting Analyze and optimize logistics, trade, and regulatory data and provide actionable insights. Skills and Experience Required: Bachelor’s degree or equivalent experience; may be working towards a professional qualification. Comprehensive knowledge of International Trade & Compliance processes, with full knowledge of methodologies, processes, practices, and atypical issues within relevant regulations, governance procedures and reporting guidelines. Largely able to operate independently, though may seek guidance on atypical or complex International Trade & Compliance-related issues. Able to coach juniors on technical and operational matters in a specialism. Accountable for own targets and reviewing work of juniors. Frequently conducts detailed analysis and investigation to identify customised solutions for Compliance problems or needs, determine best options, or suggest improvements to existing methods. This role involves initiating communication with cross-functional teams to address and resolve shared issues, collaborate on processes or cases, and interpret or clarify technical information to enhance understanding.
