Main duties of the job
This role is for a Senior High Intensity Counsellor to join our Kent NHS Talking Therapies service. We are looking for a qualified Counsellor who wants the opportunity to support and develop Trainee and Qualified High-Intensity Counsellors within an NHS Talking Therapies service.

Job responsibilities
To apply for this role you must hold at least an NVQ Level 4 Counselling qualification and accreditation with either BABCP, UKCP, or COCSA is essential. You will have successfully completed specialist training in one or more of the following specialist trainings in NICE recommended time-limited psychological therapies for depression: Person-Centred Counselling for Depression, Dynamic Interpersonal Therapy, or Interpersonal Psychotherapy; with the required training and individual accreditation to deliver the modality as specified by the NHS Talking Therapies Manual. You will also evidence post-qualification NHS Talking Therapies training in clinical supervision.

Person Specification
Qualifications
* Recognised professional counselling qualification to a minimum of Diploma level (NVQ 4)
* Registration and accreditation with BACP, UKCP, or COSCA
* Should you be successful in your application, you will be required to provide 3 years worth of references and where applicable, will need to undergo an enhanced DBS check.
Experience
* Demonstrable experience of working in mental health services
* Demonstrable experience with routine outcome monitoring
* Demonstrable experience of carrying out risk assessments within scope of practice
* Understanding of anxiety and depression and how it may present in Primary Care
* Knowledge of medication used in anxiety and depression and other common mental health problems
* Demonstrable understanding for the need to use evidence-based psychological therapies and how it relates to this post
* Knowledge of child protection issues and other relevant legislation
* Knowledge of anti-discriminatory practice and of working with the diverse range of groups and communities served
* Able to be self-reflective, whilst working with service users and in own personal and professional development and in supervision
* Advance communication skills
* Able to work within a team and foster good working relationships
* High level of enthusiasm and motivation
