We are looking for an experienced Global Data Center Technology Lead Patient Solutions with focus on research technologies to join our Information Technology team, based in our office in Braine-l'Alleud in Belgium.
About the role
As a Global Data Center Technology Lead Patient Solution you will design and implement cutting-edge IT infrastructure solutions to support advanced research initiatives. Collaborating with solution leaders and stakeholders, you will develop long-term strategies and ensure technology remains robust, secure, and adaptable. You will oversee infrastructure architecture, drive innovation, and contribute to key financial decisions related to hardware, licensing, and emerging technologies. Additionally, you will foster strong relationships with internal and external service providers to enhance operational efficiency and effectiveness.
Who you’ll work with
You will work closely with a dynamic and multidisciplinary team, including solutions leaders, researchers, and IT professionals. You will establish strong interfaces with internal and external service providers, ensuring efficient and effective research operations. Your role will be pivotal in bridging technical solutions with scientific needs, contributing to impactful research outcomes.
What you’ll do:
1. Design and implement research IT infrastructure architectures
2. Monitor technology trends and advise stakeholders on innovative solutions
3. Ensure compliance with regulatory standards and industry best practices
4. Develop guidelines and strategies for long-term IT infrastructure improvements
5. Manage infrastructure projects from design to implementation and go-live
6. Lead and mentor junior team members while fostering collaboration
Interested? For this position you’ll need the following education, experience, and skills:
1. Master’s, or PhD in Computer Science, Information Technology, or a related field
2. Extensive knowledge of large hosting capabilities, HPC and strong storage system architecture
3. Excellent knowledge of distributed systems, clusters, containers, Linux OS, GPU/CPU computation
4. Proven expertise in managing large-scale infrastructure within the pharmaceutical or research sector
5. Strong understanding of network security principles, protocols, and best practices
6. Experience interfacing with external suppliers and managing purchasing decisions
7. Ability to develop and manage budgets for IT infrastructure solutions
8. Familiarity with regulatory compliance in the pharmaceutical industry
9. 10+ years of experience in a similar role, with a strong analytical and problem-solving mindset
10. Excellent communication and collaboration skills, with fluency in English (French or Dutch are a plus)
