North East London Foundation Trust is shaping the future, especially within our Tissue Viability Service.
An exciting opportunity has arisen for a 12-month fixed-term contract for Band 6 Nurse Specialist to join our friendly Tissue Viability Team who are currently based at Mayflower Community Hospital in Billericay.
The service currently works Monday to Friday 9 am until 5 pm, running clinics across the area and home visits where required.
You will need to have excellent communication and time management skills with the ability to prioritize and problem-solve.

Main duties of the job
Tissue Viability Nurse Specialist
Band 6 part-time (12 months fixed-term contract)
Tissue Viability Service
Basildon, Brentwood, and Thurrock.
As part of this small team, you will be responsible for the assessment and management of patients with complex wounds across the ICB.
Supporting our community nursing teams, practice nurses and GPs, care homes, and nursing homes in working with patients with chronic wounds.
Participating in clinical research, audits, and promoting the service to the wider MDT.
The successful candidate will be able to work autonomously and have experience in wound management including compression bandaging and dopplers.

Probationary Period: This post will be subject to a probationary period. Internal applicants are exempt from the probationary period (unless you are an internal applicant currently partway through a probationary period or currently a bank member of staff).
High Cost Area Supplement – Fringe: This post also attracts payment for High Cost Area Supplement of 5% of the basic salary (minimum payment of £1,258 and a maximum payment of £2,122 per annum pro rata).
Detailed job description and main responsibilities
* Undertake full holistic assessments and set care plans
* Review, monitor, and update care plans effectively
* Work autonomously in both clinic and community visit settings
* Be able to manage and apply VAC therapy
* Competent in the assessment and management of complex pressure ulcers
* Competent in the application of various compression therapies
