What you’ll do:
1. Provide a professional reception service to all customers and meet the client's expectations in line with the operational level agreements.
2. Adhere to the correct procedure for all staff, visitors, and members entering the building.
3. Ensure that the client and customers receive the highest possible standard of hospitality.
4. Answer the phones in a polite and friendly manner and deal with any requests in a timely and efficient fashion.
5. Prepare daily and weekly forecasts related to users and occupancy in the hotel.
6. Carry out cash and banking duties in line with company policy.
7. Co-operate with all team members and undertake duties in the reception area as requested to ensure efficient and effective service delivery.
8. Ensure all guests are checked in and out efficiently with all the correct information needed.
9. Act as Emergency Coordinator in the event of any emergency exercise or actual event.
10. Identify opportunities for service improvement or development within the conference environment.
11. Ensure compliance with Sodexo and Shell’s legal regulations on health and safety, food safety, hygiene, and the environment.
12. Embrace and grow a ‘zero accidents culture’ by ensuring accurate reporting of near misses and accidents.
13. Complete all company documents with integrity and practice due diligence at all times.
14. Continue to develop your skills and knowledge within the position.
15. Attend team meetings to maintain levels of communication across the team as required.
16. Work on your own initiative within a team environment.
17. Maintain levels of quality, cleanliness, food safety, and hygiene in line with company SEMS, Safeguard, and local authority regulations.
18. Provide Duty Management cover of the hotel when required.
19. Perform any other reasonable request as directed by management.
What you bring:
1. Excellent communication skills both written and verbal, with experience working with previous customers or clients.
2. Excellent interpersonal skills and ability to communicate effectively with customers, clients, and staff at all levels.
3. Friendly and polite manner both in person and on the phone.
4. Good time management and organizational skills.
5. Ability to work well under pressure managing multiple workloads.
6. Ability to achieve and set standards and operate to performance criteria, with a focus on hotel operations.
7. Attention to detail and adherence to standards.
8. Positive approach to learning in role and identifying own training needs.
9. Self-motivated with a sense of initiative.
10. Ability to work effectively as part of a team.
11. Flexible approach to role - must be available to work different shifts including early mornings, evenings, and weekends.
12. Previous experience in a Reception Environment.
13. First Aid Certificate.
