Finance Business Partner
Salary - Depending on experience
Hybrid - 3 days in office, 2 days at home
Chemring Energetics UK is a global business providing a range of equipment based on energetic materials for defence, civil defence and key commercial customers. An exciting and challenging opportunity has arisen for a Finance Business Partner.
We are looking for a Finance Business Partner to play a key role in monitoring and analysing margins, financial KPIs, and other critical metrics that influence our company's budget and forecast on a monthly basis. As a key member of our Finance team, you will provide valuable insights to support decision-making, helping to identify opportunities for growth and potential risks within the business. Key Accountabilities & Duties:
* Carry out all activities in full compliance with H&SE legislation, within company policy and procedure.
* Responsible for reporting any unsafe acts or unsafe conditions observed (using the Near Miss System) in accordance with responsibilities under the Health and Safety at work Act.
* Identifying the financial impact of opportunities and threats that exist within the business and how this could impact on the company’s budget and forecast on a month-to-month basis.
* Detailed analysis of the company’s cost base, identifying areas for improvement.
* Detailed analysis of gross margins achieved each month across Devices, HE and Propellants.
* Analysis of sales to budget on a monthly basis.
* Working closely with peers to ensure knowledge is shared and to help decision-making across the wider business.
* Monitor Project spend to ensure this is aligned to company objectives.
* Assist in Overhead reporting each month and working closely with budget owners to ensure discretionary spend is managed effectively.
* Working closely with budget owners through the budget process, managing financial targets and priorities.
* Maintain detailed asset breakdown schedules for tax and internal reporting purposes.
* Assist with internal and year end audit process.
* Review and approval of bank payments as required.
* Assist the Financial Controller with monthly and year end reporting.
* Assist in other month-end tasks as appropriate.
The Candidate:
* Must have personal commitment to Safety, Quality and Environmental standards.
* Strong bias for action to identify potential problems and co-ordinate their resolution before they become an issue.
* Continually seeks to identify new ideas and implement new opportunities, which deliver business benefit.
* The ability to lead, build and develop effective relationships and use these to improve performance.
* Strong IT, communication and team working skills.
* Knowledge of the principles of company policy and operating procedures in order to ensure site and company compliance.
Qualifications/Experience:
* Qualified accountant (CA/ACCA/CIMA).
* Post qualified experience of working in industry is preferred.
* Strong technical accounting skills with great attention to detail.
* Prior Manufacturing and Standard Costing experience would be a distinct advantage.
* Comfortable working to tight deadlines.
* Ability to respect and apply confidentiality.
* Strong analytical skills to support business decision making processes.
