Job Title: Field Service Technician

Salary: £32,000 - £36,000 + Bonus
Hours: Monday to Friday - 0740 to 1655, with 1 in 3 weekends

Impact Recruitment is working on behalf of the UK's leading specialist in the repair and maintenance of commercial microwave ovens to find dedicated Field Service Technicians to join their team. About the Role
As a Field Service Technician, you'll work in your specific area, managing your own schedule and traveling to customer sites across coffee chains, restaurants, and other locations in the hospitality industry. With real-time job updates on your tablet or smartphone, you'll be empowered to deliver exceptional service to clients, capturing on-site details easily and accurately.
The role includes comprehensive training at our client's Northamptonshire base, where you'll gain the hands-on skills and technical knowledge required to excel. Following initial training under an experienced Area Manager, you'll work independently with ongoing support, using a fully-equipped company vehicle as your "office" and provided with all the necessary tools, PPE, and workwear.
Key Responsibilities
1. Perform service, repair, and maintenance of commercial microwave ovens and other specialized catering equipment.
2. Use a tablet-based system to manage your daily schedule and parts inventory, ensuring real-time updates and accurate reporting.
3. Troubleshoot and diagnose technical issues, aiming for a "first-time fix" approach to uphold their reputation for quality service.
4. Communicate professionally with clients, providing friendly and efficient customer service at each site.
5. Engage in initial and ongoing training, both in the field and at the training facility, to stay up to date with industry standards and innovations.
About You
You're practical, adaptable, and ideally have experience in a field-based role, with knowledge of basic electrical systems. A natural problem solver with strong customer service skills, you're ready to grow within a supportive team and take ownership of your daily tasks and learning.
Qualifications and Skills
1. Basic electrical or electronic knowledge with hands-on troubleshooting ability.
2. Organised and thorough, with an ability to manage a varied workload independently.
3. Good communication skills; polite, courteous, and customer-focused.
4. Comfortable using mobile devices for scheduling and reporting.
5. Flexible and willing to work varied hours as required, with a "can-do" attitude.
