About the Role: Deliver engaging and challenging Design & Technology lessons across Key Stages 3 and 4, covering a range of disciplines such as product design, resistant materials, electronics, and potentially graphics or textiles, depending on your specialisms. Develop and implement innovative lesson plans that encourage students to explore design briefs, experiment with materials, and utilize a variety of tools and techniques. Assess student progress through project work, design portfolios, and practical assessments, providing detailed and constructive feedback to support their learning and development in Design & Technology. Contribute to the development of the Design & Technology curriculum and participate in departmental meetings and initiatives. Maintain a safe and stimulating learning environment within the workshops and design studios. Potentially contribute to extracurricular design clubs or competitions. Ideal Candidate: Qualified Teacher Status (QTS) in Design & Technology or a closely related field. A strong understanding of design principles, manufacturing processes, and current technologies relevant to the secondary D&T curriculum. Experience teaching Design & Technology at the secondary level across Key Stages 3 and 4. Excellent communication, organizational, and practical skills, with the ability to inspire and motivate students. Proficiency in using relevant design software and workshop equipment. A passion for Design & Technology and a commitment to fostering students' creativity and problem-solving skills.
