Locum Consultant in Ophthalmology with special interest in Strabismus and/or Paediatric Ophthalmology (12 month fixed term) We are looking to recruit an enthusiastic Locum Consultant colleague to the department of Ophthalmology which sits within the Digestive diseases and Surgery Clinical Service Unit (CSU) based at Bradford Royal Infirmary. The post holder will be expected to have a broad experience of the specialty, particularly Strabismus and/or Paediatric Ophthalmology. Applicants must be fully registered with the GMC at the time of application, fit to practice and able to demonstrate that they have the required broad-based training, experience and knowledge for the post. Main duties of the job The post-holder will be part of a team of 15 Ophthalmology Consultants Whilst the post-holder will be expected to have experience in the management of strabismus and/or paediatric ophthalmology, they may choose to develop the role to incorporate either general paediatric ophthalmology or emergency eye care services. The post holder will be an enthusiastic teacher and participate in the training of medical and allied health practitioners. The post will include supervision of ACPs. The post-holder will be expected to provide a range of Ophthalmology Services including emergency eye care. The post-holder will attend the Ophthalmology clinical governance and business meetings.
