GSL Education are thrilled to be recruiting for a Special Educational Needs (SEN) Teaching Assistant to work in a supportive and inclusive school community in Totton. About the Role: As an SEN Teaching Assistant, you’ll work closely with students who require extra support, helping them overcome challenges and reach their potential. This is a fulfilling opportunity to contribute meaningfully by providing tailored assistance that makes learning accessible and enjoyable for every child. Responsibilities: Offer individual and small group support to students with Autism, ADHD, and other special educational needs. Assist teachers in creating inclusive lesson plans and adapting activities for diverse needs. Encourage positive behaviour and engagement in learning. Develop strong, positive relationships with students, acting as a trusted mentor and role model. Work collaboratively with teaching staff and other SEN specialists to provide comprehensive support. Requirements: Previous experience as an SEN Teaching Assistant or similar role is preferred. Patience, empathy, and a genuine passion for working with children with additional needs. Strong communication and teamwork skills. Relevant qualifications (e.g., SEN support training or experience ) are desirable but not essential. To work with GSL Education, you will need: Have the right to work in the UK. Have an up-to-date CV with two relevant references from within the last 2 years. Have a DBS registered to the Updated Service or be happy to apply for one with GSL Education.
