Who we are looking for?
Anaphite is experiencing rapid growth and is seeking a motivated candidate to support our evolving requirements by developing and structuring our business systems for the future. As a Business Systems Engineer, you will join our dedicated Operations Team to expand our capabilities and create efficient workflows across the organisation.
The candidate will oversee the design, implementation, and management of our core operations and database systems, ensuring they are robust, scalable, and aligned with our strategic objectives. Additionally, you will play a technical role in supporting the maintenance and continuous improvement of systems used in electrochemical and chemical characterisation analysis, working closely with R&D teams to enhance system functionality and reliability.
We are looking for a practical, organised and driven candidate who learns quickly, is conscientious, and cares about completing tasks to a high quality.
Responsibilities/Duties:
* Design, implement, and maintain core business systems infrastructure to support operational efficiency and growth;
* Ensure system robustness, scalability, and alignment with strategic business objectives;
* Oversee the maintenance and continuous improvement of systems for electrochemical and chemical characterisation analysis, including the handling, storage, and presentation/access of scientific data (database management);
* Collaborate with R&D teams to enhance system functionality and reliability for analytical processes;
* Troubleshoot technical issues in systems infrastructure to minimise downtime and optimise performance;
* Design and utilise a system to monitor performance and generate reports for management on infrastructure health;
* Conduct regular system audits to identify areas for improvement and implement necessary changes;
* Research and integrate new technologies to advance system capabilities and efficiency;
* Ensure compliance with industry standards and best practices in system management, including cybersecurity and GDPR and
* Provide technical guidance, documentation and training to teams on system usage and troubleshooting;
Required Proficiencies/Experience:
Experience:
* Experience designing, implementing and maintaining systems to meet company needs (e.g. Airtable, GSuite, bespoke);
* Experience with organisational change management and training end-users and
* Experience designing systems for data storage, handling, analysis and visualisation.
Skills:
* Database design and management;
* Implementation of document management systems;
* Familiarity with data analytics tools (e.g., ObservableHQ, Origin, Excel) to interpret and visualise data;
* Working proficiency in languages such as Python, Java, C#, or JavaScript and
* Aptitude for troubleshooting and coming up with efficient, scalable solutions.
Education:
* Relevant technical degree (BSc minimum) (e.g. computer science, mathematics, physics) and
* Advanced degree/qualification focussing on information systems or other relevant software implementation
Salary/Benefits:
* Base Salary: 34 - 45k per year depending on experience;
