Your new role
As a pivotal member of the Finance Team, you will oversee and manage financial operations, ensuring accurate accounting, reporting, compliance, and financial planning. In this role, you will collaborate closely with the Executive Management team to drive financial efficiency and support decision-making processes that contribute to the success and growth of the organisation internationally.
Reporting to the CTO and Chief of Staff, you will manage 1 member of staff and take a hands-on approach, providing a key contribution to the company's financial strategy and decision-making processes. You will ensure scalable processes in finance and work collaboratively with the leadership team to allocate resources and ensure financial goals are met. You will manage financial risks and ensure appropriate financial controls in compliance with legal, regulatory, and financial standards as well as develop and supervise the implementation of internal financial accounting, monitoring and reporting systems. A key part of this role is the analysis, preparation and presentation of monthly and quarterly financial, budgeting and forecasting reports to the board, and you will lead the end-to-end audit process of current systems, while acting as a point of contact for external auditors.
As Financial Controller, you will have the scope to contribute to the commercial and operational capacity of the team with the opportunity to get involved in contract terms and negotiations, managing IP, legal and insurance matters routinely, ensuring correct customer billing and performing the majority of payment approvals.
What you'll need to succeed
The successful candidate will be a qualified accountant with experience in financial reporting, proven expertise in preparing and analysing financial statements in accordance with UK GAAP/IFRS and strong analytical skills with the ability to analyse complex financial data and provide actionable insights. You will have demonstrable leadership skills, strong communication skills and be a problem-solver with strong decision-making skills and the ability to work under pressure to meet tight deadlines.
